What was our client looking for?
So, what was the result?
We spent time listening to our client’s ideas and settled on a 1920’s theme. Plenty of opportunity for glamour and extravagance.
Working with the existing charm and decadence of the venue itself, we set about planning the seating arrangements, as well as the evening’s entertainment. We were thoughtful in our layout as we took this into account and left space for a sizeable dancefloor amongst the tables, along with a staged area to one side.
Guests entering the reception were received by a jazz trio, a typical 20’s movie “gangster” human statue, and two girls wearing Charleston flapper costumes.
Continuing the theme, our team selected music from the era, and a large screen was set up across the room from the DJ, playing clips from popular film, Bugsy Malone. The film, famously set in the decade, really added to the ambience and overall feel of the event.
The evening’s entertainment included a choreographed Charleston routine, created by Uptown Event’s Dance Choreographer, Katrina. Guests were invited to take to the floor, and the party continued through to the early hours of the following morning.
Our client had wanted to entertain a large guest list with a fun, alternative Christmas theme, and the evening was an enormous success!
